1st day of the wedding. Blue sari |
Today I will tell about Nepali wedding preparation and will upload beautiful pictures of me (not very modestly :))
The wedding was in the village, not far from the small Town.

This beautiful tree was
on the way to village |
How actually I decide to go there? I met very good friend in Kathmandu, he worked in a hostel where I lived. The best hostel I ever saw in there. So this friend invites me.
I came to Birgunj by bus, from the bus station Rishi (my friend) took me for a small tour around the town, and then we went to the village.

goats and rice |
It was real village with cows and small handmade homes. I was living in one of the biggest houses. I have to remind you that conditions of living is very different from Europe. I would like to say it's hard. I will tell it apart in other article. Today! About wedding preparation.

My Mhndi |
I came few days before the wedding to meet all the friends and family members, to know each other better. Wedding was between two villages and I was from the bride's side. The preparation starts two days before when all the women gathering together to paint Mehndi.

red color must be everywhere |
[Mehndi or henna is a paste that is bought in a cone-shaped tube and is made into designs for men and women.]
I slept all night with henna on my hand, and want to emphasize that to be beautiful is not so easy, because outside of my blanket was cold so in the morning my left hand was like iceberg. Anyway result was stunning. From the morning all ladies start to wear Sari.

Me and my little princes (sister of Rishi) |
[A Sari, saree, sadi, or shari [note 1] is a South Asian female garment that consists of a drape varying from five to nine yards (4.5 metres to 8 metres) in length and two to four feet (60 cm to 1.20 m) in breadth that is typically wrapped around the waist, with one end draped over the shoulder, baring the midriff.]

Mw and Rishi |
Ladies, it was nice experience to see
how Indian and Nepali women wearing it, because there are certain rules which you have to follow before to wrap yourself. Under Sari I had to wear special short blouse and we couldn't find it for me because first of all I was the tallest girl in the village (even though in my country I have an average height). So the breast size automatically became bigger comparing to Nepali ladies. In the end we found a blouse and mother of my friend Rishi helped to wrap me. I had two Saris.

2nd day. Red Sari for me |
One was blue for the first day, and other was red for the second day. By the way brides sari must be in traditional red color.
Birgunj located on the boarder with India, so many people are going there to buy dresses.
After I dressed it was time for Jewelry: belts, head pieces, bracelets, earrings etc. Everything is in the mix: gold, silver, bijou. We also colored our legs in red and put bracelets on them.
Once everyone were ready was time to start wedding...
